TRAINEE GARDENER 

Based : Within 15 miles of RG9 6RP

Hours: Part to full time. Normally 1 or 2 x 4 to 6 hour shifts between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday but we are flexible in terms of the number of hours / shifts you choose to work and are very happy to employ on a school time / term time basis (or similar) for those with other commitments or the wish for flexible working hours

Salary: £12.50 for initial probation period of 10 working days then rising to £15/hr upon agreement 

Job Purpose: You will be a key part of THE FLOWER UNION gardening team. You will want to learn about gardens and gardening. You will be or want to become skilled, confident and knowledgable about plants, plant care, garden maintenance and garden management. You will be trained and supervised by the knowledgeable and experienced  Head Gardener / Team Leader and will work alongside the rest of THE FLOWER UNION team to meet our aims and objectives as a Social Enterprise.  

• Working with the Head Gardener / Team Leader & the rest of the gardening team to complete seasonal gardening tasks including ; mowing, strimming & edging lawns, raking leaves, weeding bed & borders, pruning shrubs & trees 
• Ensuring that every garden is left neat and tidy
• Fulfilling any appropriate tasks the Head Gardener / Team Leader requires 

• Motivated and hard-working
• Willingness to learn
• Able to work happily in all weathers (though we do adjust our workload accordingly and you are not obliged to work at any time)
• Organised and communicative, with a willingness to work in a timely and professional fashion
• Collaborative and empathetic (though you are not required to be social)
• Ability to handle and lift items weighing between 0-10 kilos
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
• Suitable and appropriate gardening clothing (including gardening gloves, protective eyewear and safety boots)
• Desire to be part of a growing Social Enterprise

• Willingness to work varied hours or days based on the needs of the Social Enterprise 
• Driver with own vehicle or ability to travel to RG9 6RP for shared transport
• Horticultural experience and qualifications (or desire to achieve horticultural qualifications)

GARDENING ASSISTANT

Based : Within 15 miles of RG9 6RP

Hours: Part to full time. Normally 1 or 2  x 4 to 6 hour shifts between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday but we are flexible in terms of  start / finish times, hours / shifts you choose to work and are very happy to employ on a school time / term time basis (or similar) for those with other commitments or the wish for flexible working hours

Salary: £14/hr 

Job Purpose: You will be a key part of THE FLOWER UNION gardening team. You will be physically fit, hard working and professionally presented. You will follow instructions well, take pride in completing your work to a high standard and be capable of working alone and unsupervised

• Working with the Head Gardener / Gardening Team Leader & the gardening team to complete seasonal gardening tasks including ; mowing, strimming & edging lawns, deadheading flowers, jetwashing paths, raking leaves, tidying garden beds & borders, cleaning pools and water features, feeding and watering plants, clearing garden waste, wheelbarrowing, mulching and turning composting
• Ensuring that every garden is left neat and tidy
• Fulfilling any appropriate tasks the Head Gardener / Gardening Team Leader requires 

• Motivated and hard-working
• Follows instructions well
• Able to work happily in all weathers (though we do adjust our workload accordingly and you are not obliged to work at any time)
• Organised and communicative (we use whatsapp primarily) with a willingness to work in a timely and professional fashion
• Collaborative and professsional (though you are not required to be social)
• Ability to handle and lift items weighing between 0-10 kilos and to move around a garden at a brisk pace
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
• Suitable and appropriate gardening clothing (including gardening gloves, protective eyewear and safety boots)

Job Title: FLORIST (NO CURRENT VACANCIES)

Based : Temple, Marlow (SL7) & Hambleden (RG9)

Hours: Flexible, but including weekend work

Salary: £15.00 hr for initial trial period then rising to £17.50/hr

Job Purpose: You will know how to arrange seasonal flowers and be confident In your ability to produce a whole range of beautiful floral products. You will be trained \ experienced and able to work unsupervised and alongside the rest of THE FLOWER UNION team to meet our aims and objectives as a Social Enterprise.

• Conditioning and caring for all our cut flowers 
• Arranging and delivering floral arrangements, preparing bouquets and bespoke orders.
• Designing and arranging wedding and event flowers  
• Helping fulfill e-commerce orders and offline deliveries
• Ensuring that every product that leaves the flower studio is to the highest quality and standard
• Fulfilling any appropriate tasks the Head Florist requires (e.g. picking / collecting flowers, ordering sundries, packaging or logistics)
• Maintaining high standards of flower hygiene and safety standards as per company policy 
• Keeping the flower studio clean and tidy
• Keeping the delivery van clean and tidy

• Good working knowledge of flowers and flower trends
• A proven track record in a professional floristry studio
• Naturally creative eye
• Ability to work to deadlines and cope with the last minute stress intrinsic to Wedding & Event work
• Ability to work in a low temperature environment (our studio is unheated and can be very cold)
• Ability to work at The Flower Studio in Bisham, Marlow, SL7 and the Flower Garden in Hambleden, RG9 6RT
• Ability to work some weekends 
• Motivated and hard-working, able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines

• Ability to handle and lift items weighing between 0-50 pounds
