We specialise in 'right job, right time'© and aim to achieve year round ornamental appeal while considering long term impact, garden health, climate resilience and budget.

In 2025, we started maintaining climate resilient dry/gravel/sandy gardens in Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs, Dorset too.

Great Garden Design transforms outdoor spaces by bringing together structure, function, and aesthetic appeal.

We offer a full or partial Garden Design service to residential and commercial clients and specialise in climate resilient modern floral gardens and dry/gravel/sandy gardens.

All our Garden Designs are guaranteed for 5 years if maintained by our teams.

GARDEN IMPROVEMENT

Whether you are looking to modernise an established garden, add to an existing Garden Design, incorporate more climate resilience/less maintenance cost or introduce a new component to your garden, we have the Garden Design and Garden Maintenance experience and expertise to assist you.

We source plants from a wide range of UK specialist nurseries as well as using our own hardy plants, grown from seed or cutting using the principles of Biodynamic agriculture.

We have been maintaining gardens in and around Henley-on-Thames and Marlow since 2011. In 2025, we started maintaining gardens in Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs, Dorset too.

Our services includes regular garden maintenance for private homes and businesses as well as ad hoc gardening services for Landlords, Estate Agents, Rental Agencies, Private Landlords and those in need of extra help in the garden.

We specialise in 'right job, right time'© and aim to achieve overall ornamental appeal, floral interest and plant productivity while considering long term impact, garden health, climate resilience and budget.

Services we offer include ;

Maintaining beds and borders so they provide year round pleasure and interest
Nurturing edible and cutting gardens for year round productivity
Small tree / shrub pruning & seasonal care
Hedge and lawn maintenance /care

We are RHS qualified, trained in Biodynamic, Regenerative & Permaculture based horticulture, use our own low impact battery-operated tools and have a selection of high reach towers and safety equipment for specialist work.

We have a minimum booking of 1 gardener for 4 hrs, are fully insured and are happy to remove and recycle garden waste offsite if required.

GARDEN DESIGN

Jane, our Founder, offers her Garden Design skills and services through The Flower Union.

She has been designing beautiful gardens and planting schemes in and around Henley on Thames since 2014 and started designing dry, climate resilient gardens in Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs in 2025.

She offers a full or partial garden design service, sources plants from a wide range of specialist nurseries as well as using our own hardy plants, grown from seeds or cuttings. Jane guarantees her planting schemes for at least 5 years when The Flower Union garden maintenance teams are employed to care for them.

Dependent upon size of garden and scale of project - minimum £350*
Build and maintenance fees charged as below

Regular garden maintenance - from £27.50* / hr
Ad hoc gardening - clearing / tidying / hedge trimming / tree pruning - £35* / hr

Extras* - charged / day (or part thereof) ;

Hire of scaffolding tower & safety equipment - £100*
Waste removal - £27.50* plus time @ £27.50/hr plus £1* per mile from client location to nearest waste recycling centre
